2020 Third Estate Shiraz

Sourced from a single block perched on the highest section of a collection of vineyards at Moppa in the northwestern corner of the Barossa Valley. The vines are planted in shallow top soils that lie over a bed of ancient ironstone. The exposed site submits the vines to the elements, reducing yields, bunch and berry size to produce fruit of intense flavour, dark colour and solid structure. Grafted onto Viognier rootstock, Shiraz from this block displays rose petal perfume and cherry notes on the nose, and a viscous palate of sweet morello cherries with undertones of dark chocolate and vanilla.

Deep, impenetrable red purple with aromas of cedar-infused black fruits, blood plum and crème de cassis notes. Dredged with deep spice, licorice, dark bitter chocolate and earth. Pitch-perfect tannin support, incredible fruit density and balance despite heady alcohol levels. Super-impressive.
